ENGINEERED TO YOUR APPLICATION |
| |
| Sizes |
| English
pump sizes from 8 through 36 inches; Metric models
from 600-1400 millimeters. Other sizes available
for special applications. |
| |
| Materials
of Construction |
| Cast
Iron, 304 or 316 Stainless Steel, CD-4MCu, Ferralium,
Alloy 20, UHB 604L, Nichel, Monel, Hastalloy, Titanium
and other to suit application. |
| |
| Configurations |
| Horizontal
single or double elbow, and special designs. Flow
in either direction. Guide vanes available. Base
mounted and pipe-suspended models. |
|
|
| CAST
ELBOW DESIGN |
| |
| EAF
pumps using cast-elbow construction are available in 10 through
54-inch sizes. The unit shown is on a short base designed for
solid mounting to a concrete foundation. When solidly mounted
bases are used, pipe expansion joints must be used to compensate
for heat induced dimensional changes of piping system. |
| |
| ESEAF
and EMPAF SINGLE ELBOW AXIAL FLOW PUMPS |
| |
| Eagle
offers two single elbow axial flow pump models: the SEAF and
the MEAF. The hydraulics, most mechanical features and options,
and basic design philosophy for both models are similar. Their
differences are primarily in mounting technique. |
| |
| IMPELLER
and HYDRAULIC DESIGN |
| |
| Eagle
EAF Pumps are available with any of several impeller designs.
All are precisely balanced and keyed to step-fit shaft for ease
of removal and reassembly Pumps may be ordered for either top
or end suctions. |
| |
| ELBOW
CONSTRUCTION |
| |
| Both
SEAF and MEAF pumps are offered with cast or fabricated elbows.
Flanges are available in several pressure ratings according
to A.S.M.E. Section VIII standards. To reduce expenditures for
replacement parts and cut maintenance time, all EAF pump sizes
are available with separate casings and/or replaceable liners. |
| |
| FABRICATED
ELBOW DESIGN |
| |
| Large
MEAF pumps are generally constructed using fabricated elbows.
The unit illustrated features a separate casing surrounding
the impeller; oil lubrication with an oil distribution wheel
for positive circulation to the thrust bearing; and is to be
suspended from piping, eliminating the need for a pump base.
The MEAF is offered in a full range of sizes and material of
construction. |
| |
| BEARING
and SHAFT ASSEMBLIES |
| |
| Heavy
duty shafts are fully cantilevered into pump elbows. Eliminating
the need for internal bearings. Split bearing housing simplify
maintenance. Grease or oil lubrication is available on pumps
24-inches and below; larger models are oil-lubricated only.
Available on 8-24 inch MEAF sizes, back pullout permits rapid
removal of the pump rotating assembly without disconnecting
any portion of the piping system. |
| |
|
|
| |
| SEAF
with FABRICATED ELBOW |
| |
| Fabricated
elbows are available on 30-inch and larger SEAF pumps. Pump
is shaft-driven by an independently mounted motor. |
| |
| STUFFING
BOX |
| |
| Large
stuffing boxes contain 5 rings of packing. Mechanical seals,
water cooled glands, and inflatable shaft seals are also available. |
| |
| PUMPING
and DRIVE MOUNTING |
| |
| SEAF
and MEAF pumps are available with custom designed bases for
complete pump, motor and drive systems as illustrated on these
pages. Bases may be rigidly mounted to the plant floor, with
expansion joints mounted on pump flanges, or maybe sprung-mounted.
Eagle spring bases assure that the pump remains level, regardless
of vertical movement due to pump expansion. |
| |
| MEAF
pumps are specifically designed for pipe-suspended mounting.
This technique automatically compensates for pipe expansion,
simplified installation, and reduces costs. Pipe-suspended mounting
also eliminates shaft misalignment caused by undue piping forces
and moments. Small MEAF pumps may be driven by a suspended motor. |
| |
| MPAF
with CAST ELBOW |
| |
| Although
illustrated as a pipe-suspended designed, the MEAF may also
be mounted on conventional or spring basis using the attachment
feet shown in dotted lines. |
| |
DIMENSIONS

|
| NOTE:
Flange thickness ("T") are not shown in
the tables since dimensions depend upon nominal
operating pressures specified. All flanges are according
to ASME. Section VIII. |
| |
| Flange
drilling is standard ANSI 150 lbs. On English pump
sizes and standard NP 10 on matric units. Special
drilling on request. |
| |
The
products shown should not be operated without safety
devices prescribed by applicable laws and regulations.
Construction details and dimensional data are for
general information only and are subject to change
without notice. |
